Liturgical Prayer

Picture
Prayer  during meetings and  catechetical sessions can  and should  reference  liturgical elements, because all of our public prayer flows from our  experience of the Mass.   When we use seasonal colors, symbols  and environment that reflects  what we are seeing, hearing, and smelling  in the  liturgy or movements, verbal formulas and gestures from the liturgy, we connect people to the weekend celebration and reinforce the  spirit of the  season.   For  people of all ages,  this  can help  create a  coherent  experience  that links  public prayer to liturgy and  makes real the  role of the liturgy as the "source and summit" of all the actions of the faith  community.
